GIS Specialist (Contract) - Central Birmingham

What to expect

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team at Dalcour Maclaren and to work on HS2 with our client, Fusion. You’ll be involved in delivering this high-profile infrastructure project between London and Leamington Spa.

As a GIS (Geographical Information Systems) Specialist you will be required to edit, manage and analyse spatial data using ArcGIS / ArcPro enabling you to deliver GIS plans and mapping, typically identifying land ownership, land access, utility routing, fencing and legal plans. In addition, you will be required to present expert GIS advice to our clients as necessary.

You’ll have the opportunity on this 6-12 month contract to get involved and be responsible for a range of tasks from managing data using our bespoke databases, mobile application development to serving vital project information to our clients via our WebGIS. You’ll work with our team to continuously review our processes and service to our internal and external clients, ensuring quality standards are met at all times.

What you'll need

You’ll have experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and have used ESRI ArcGIS software for spatial data capture, management and analysis. You may have a degree or postgraduate qualification in GIS or a closely related subject such as Geography, Surveying, Land Management with a large GIS component.

You’ll be passionate about GIS and may have some experience of utilities, energy, and infrastructure projects. You’ll have a strong map production background with excellent attention to detail and be familiar with Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, and other UK wide datasets / sources.

You’ll have great written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, if you have a knowledge of surveying and commercial awareness that would be useful.
